Link Building Strategies, Blogging And Commenting For Links

Using A Blog For Links And Commenting On Others’ Blogs

Marketers tend to blog for many reasons – but one of those reasons is link building. Link building becomes very easy when you understand the blogosphere, and you take your place in it.

If you don’t know how to blog, or you don’t have a blog, there are numerous courses available that will teach you the In’s and Out’s of blogging. Make sure that you get one and learn how to do it. Blogging is very easy, and in most cases, it is even fun.

In your blog, you will be linking out to other blogs fairly often. This is fine, as long as those blogs are on quality websites, with the higher page rank. Try to avoid liking to blogs that have low page ranks.

The good part of this is that most bloggers use the ‘trackback’ feature on their blogs, as you should. When you quote or write about someone else’s blog post, you provide a link to that blog.

Now, if they are using the trackback feature – guess what? A link to that blog post, on your site, automatically appears on their blog! You just built an important link.

Hopefully, for many marketing reasons, you are going to blog anyway, so it really doesn’t take you any additional time to build these links – and this is one technique for getting your link on authority sites, without having to request it.

Another way that you can use blogs is to visit the blogs on authority sites. Most of those will allow registered users (registration is usually free) to post comments on the blog posts. Quality comments that are relevant to the topic being discussed add to the visitors’ experience.

Comment as often as you can, because at the end of the post, you will be allowed to include a link to your website or blog, in most cases. In many cases, you will even be able to include a text link.

Again, you’ve managed to get your link on an authority site, without having to request it. It is self-serve inbound linking at its very best, and you need to make a habit of taking full advantage of this.

Again, make sure that when you leave a comment, that the comment is actually relevant to the post. Do not be guilty of comment spamming, where you don’t really have anything to say about the post, and you are only trying to get your link on the page.

As stated, blogging really can be fun. Make sure that you are commenting and sending trackbacks to blogs that are relevant to your own topic, as search engines are really starting to apply relevancy to linking when determining the ranking of a website or page.
